The future is here and, from URJCmun TEEN, we are ready!

Referring to the metaphor with which Nekane Estalayo, Director General, started her speech at the opening ceremony: we have come to the ending of the book, the last step in the process of URJCmun TEEN.
Little do these students know that this week may have already changed their life, their interests, their motivations..., their future, in the end. For now, they have time to think about this experience and maybe realize what they really want to do towards the future of people and the world.
During the award delivery, the chairs have honorably recognized the biggest of virtues: hard working. They have congratulated all of the students for their great dedication within the preparation on the debates and their implication and willing to enjoy themselves and to learn, the main two reasons for which they have been living this experience, ultimately.
Julio Mateos, chair of ECOFIN and Director of the model, has mentioned that non-conformism is key, in fact, it is the first step to success. These students, this generation, we are claiming for our space and recognition in this dynamic and complex world. From First of ESO to Second of Bachillerato, the delegates have excelled, they have shown off their capacity and responsibility to care for the problems that threat people around the world.
Even though this has been the first edition of the model, it will remain in our memories for long time, as it has put together more than one hundred students between delegates, secretariat, chairs, staff, administratives and press to make the most of these three days. Hopefully, they have lived and loved this model so much that we could meet again next year. And the followings.
For some students, this model has been the first, but for others, pitifully, the last. Anyway, the new generations are to take over and provide that URJCmun TEEN remains a delightful, peaceful and fruitful safe and equal place. Above all, what older students say about these types of models is that they mean a home for them; the friends they make here, their family; so it is on us to keep on trying to make the world a better place while we grow our personal oasis. For all that is to come, see you in 2021, URJCmun TEEN.

Here we go, URJCmun TEEN 2020!
Opening Ceremony - 04.03.2020

Today the first edition of URJCmun TEEN has begun in the campus of Móstoles. Here, we will find our second home for these three days in which enthusiasm, attitude, smart suits, some sneakers and few high heels will play their part... Let’s get this started!
It is the turn for more than one hundred students including delegates, secretariat, staff and press along with the faculty advisors to excel and seek resolutions regarding the topics to be developed in the DISEC, ECOFIN, HRC and UNICEF committees.
Some of the students have already taken part in other models at their schools, but for many of the delegates, this is going to be their first mun, but surely not the last. We can always learn more about what goes on in the world and how it is ruled by getting closer to know how the UN works.
The speeches given by Nekane Estalayo Paul, Director General; Pilar Trinidad Núñez, Vice Chancellor of International Relations and Miguel Fernández Guerra, Secretary General, have encouraged the participants to make the most of this experience. They have reinforced the idea that our generation is expected to make things different and change the world. In words of the Secretary General: “we are unafraid, we are outgoing, we are confident”. These events will definitely pave the way to the next generation to take over.
What makes this model special is the fact that it is made by and for students. The huge work done by the secretariat was recognized by Trinidad, who praised every single member that has taken part in the organisation of this event.
The delegates now face three challenging days in which the delegates are responsible for coming up with solutions on Human Rights, economic, arms-related and childhood issues. The best is expected from the students, who come from IES Velázquez, Alkor, Bérriz, BRAINS, CEU San Pablo, Gredos San Diego de Buitrago, JOYFE, La Salle y SEK El Castillo, no matter what their age is. Only through putting into action their capacity to work together will they come to agreements.
